If you’ve booked, or are considering, a holiday in the Maldives, you can look forward to incredible encounters with some of the world’s most iconic marine life.

The Maldives is a world-renowned scuba diving destination but it’s equally good for snorkelling so even if you’re not a natural water baby and would prefer to stay at the surface, you won’t miss out on what this beautiful location has to offer.

Never snorkelled before?

If you’ve never even put on a snorkel, mask and fins before and are a bit nervous about being in deep water – don’t worry, the teams at Euro-Divers are friendly, patient and can teach even the most apprehensive of water goers the skills needed in very shallow water before accompanying them on unforgettable adventures.

Ready for adventure?

Once you’ve spent time getting comfortable in the water and can happily breathe through the snorkel, you’re ready to go in search of some really cool stuff. The coral reef systems of the Maldives are abundant with countless colourful fish, moray eels, turtles, rays and even sharks.

The house reefs of the resort islands offer the perfect opportunity to practice your new-found skills, or for the already avid snorkeler to explore the underwater world whenever they like and there’s plenty to see without venturing too far.

A kaleidoscope of colors, a breathtaking underwater world.

Snorkel Excursions

To explore further afield and see more variety of reef structure and creatures, join a snorkel boat excursion with our experienced guides – they know exactly where the best stretches of reef are and are experts in finding turtles, rays, and more unusual critters.

There are half day trips, turtle reef tours, manta search trips, dolphin snorkelling safaris, and you can even opt for a private speed boat excursion if you want to a more bespoke and exclusive experience.

Those who want to take adventure to the next level can join us for night snorkelling or Fluo snorkelling where special lamps show the reef in a totally different light – you’ll see things that are not possible under normal conditions!

Safe Snorkelling Tips

  • Never snorkel alone.
  • Always wear fins – the current can be strong and with fins you’ll find swimming much less tiring.
  • Wear proper fitting equipment – if in doubt as our team to check for you
  • Never touch or chase the marine life. Remain a respectful distance away
  • Wear sun protection – a rash guard is recommended as the equatorial sun is very strong but you won’t necessarily notice whilst in the water – you don’t want to miss out on snorkelling days due to a sunburnt back.
  • Always follow the advice of the guide – they know the area like the back of their hand and want you to have the best time possible.

We hope you can join us on snorkelling adventures very soon – we can’t wait to show you the underwater treasures of the Maldives!
