Club Med Kabira
Club Med Kabira is a delightful resort located in the heart of a national marine park zone on Ishigaki Island, part the Kabira peninsula. It is surrounded by emerald waters and speckled with fine white sandy beaches where water sport activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and snorkeling are featured activities enjoyed in perfect conditions as Kabira is regularly blessed by the ocean breeze. Club Med Kabira was voted by Japanese readers of four different publications as the country’s best resort as well as best scuba diving destination. It offers luxury and comfort in a Zen atmosphere in traditional Japanese elegance.
The Euro-Divers dive centre is open seasonally, from the 15th of April until the 31st of October, when the sea conditions are at their optimum for divers to enjoy a once in a lifetime diving experience from which they will bring back indelible memories.
From 24 August 2017, children from 10 years old can now participate in diving activities.
While the extraordinary marine life is enough of a reason to dive the turquoise waters of Ishigaki, the main attraction remains the elegant mantas that congregate in great numbers in the summer months. There are in fact several dive sites that mantas visit on their oceanic pilgrimage as these reefs are cleaning stations where they simply circle in a slow underwater ballet and wait for the cleaner wrasses to remove the parasites that incrusted their skin.
One of the most celebrated dive sites that mantas regularly visit, Manta Scramble, is conveniently located a few hundred meters from the Club Med Kabira beach. For divers who dream to discover new, exciting dive sites and meet legendary marine life, Club Med Kabira on Ishigaki Island is a fantastic departure point to superlative destinations both on dry land and underwater.
