Scuba diving in Egypt’s southern Red Sea is incredible with kaleidoscopic coral, all sorts of weird and wonderful critters, and big stuff that will enable you to tick a few things off your bucket list. With this world-class diving on your doorstep, you’ll want to get as much out of your dive holiday as possible with no barriers to adventure.
You don’t want to be the diver who listens to excited chatter about dive sites that are too deep for your certification level, or the one who ran out of bottom time just before the big stuff showed up.
Euro-Divers Egypt recommends two specialty courses that will really enhance your diving and enable you to get the most out of your time underwater: Deep Diver and Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver.
Let us know about your deep adventures in the comments below!

Deep Diver
After completing this course, you will be able to explore parts of dive sites deeper than 18 metres and visit sites that are out of bounds to those who are not trained in deep diving. You will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 40 metres, learn to recognize and deal with signs of narcosis, manage gas supply at depth and plan deep dives safely. The 4 course dives can be completed in 2 days and, to make it easier during your holiday, you can study at home with eLearning for the theory which takes 2-4 hours.
Prerequisites – Certified to PADI Adventure Diver or equivalent and be at least 15 years old.
Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver
Learn to dive with Nitrox in your tank instead of regular air and take advantage of the benefits it offers. At the very start of diver training we learn that nitrogen is the ‘bad’ gas, the one that causes narcosis and decompression sickness.
Since Nitrox has less nitrogen in it, you can extend your no decompression dive time to stay at depth for longer than divers using regular air, complete multiple dives in a day and experience less fatigue – all great things on a diving holiday!
The course takes just 2 hours and there are no compulsory dives. Make use of the eLearning facility and study before you arrive, then it’s just the practical aspects to cover such as analysing your tank, setting your computer for diving with nitrox and filling out an Enriched Air Log with your instructor at Euro-Divers.
Prerequisites – Certified to PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent and be at least 12 years old.
Diving holidays are too short for barriers to adventure!
